Lowered ride w/stock wheels & tires?

I'm just curious if anyone out there has lowered their ride, and kept the stock wheel and tire set-up??? I know that aftermarket wheels/tires usually follow a lowering job, or vice versa. But, I was actually thinking of riding stock for a while. I'd love to hear from anyone rolling stock with a lowering job...

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you, but......

I've been reading The Unfair Advantage by Mark Donahue and he's mention a track in Kent, WA several times. Just as I was clicking back to the suspension board I noticed you are from Kent. Does this track still exist and what is it called?

Hey G20Rob3,
I had my stock tires on for about a year before I bought my rims. It wasn't too bad, I had the Potenza 195/60 tires. The ride quality was a lot better than with the 17's I have now, because the tires were a lot thicker, so it would take a lot of the bumps and bruises and not the rim. but I won't go back to my stock rims unless I absolutely have to, they just don't look as nice.

I have my car lowered on stock rims/tires . My drop is 1.7 and it looks pretty good to be without rims. Mine is the same color as TY423 .
It takes bumps pretty good of course since their is more tire absorbing the impact, but of course I'll be getting some rims on ASAP b/c you when you see it dropped...you just want to get rims. Like when you get a hot fudge sunday, you gotta have whipped cream.

Personally, I like sleepers. Change the tires.

Know where I can get a real badge?

Btw, what type of bulbs do you have in your clear corners and tailights? I asked this in another thread, but only wicked responded.

my headlights are Koito lights....They are yellow looking but they project way better than the blue tinted bulb things. They are also 55W bulbs which is factory standard....everything elese is stock except for the turn signals in the rear...I cleared the tail but still installed a yellow bulb with reflect tint wrapped around them....so looks clear with no hint of yellow except when the light is turned on and emitted through the reflective tint...I do this to not attract the cops when they are like 500 yards away and he can see me weaving through traffic with ease....I mean think...most cars are stock yellow...and yours is white/blue...don't you think a cop can point you out in a second even though a hundred cars (including yourself) are blinking turn signals....? Plus where I live the local cops are not so kind to bright white blinkers...it annoys me too...

the stock wheels and tires with a lowered ride looked okay on my G, but I like filling up the fender gap hoizontally too so got me a wider tire and wheels 17x7's. same offset 45mm.

as long as you use 55 or 60 profile performance tires on the stock wheels, its all good.

Yup I'll be rolling on stock wheels for a while. I'm going to get some badass rubber in the spring and buy some steelies for the winter driving. I'm going back for the sleeper look too. Maybe I'll pick up some 2002 stock wheels when I need to get new brakes after the turbo. But I'll most likely need 17's if I get the Brembo or SMC BABK. Then I'll try and some nice strong, light road wheels.
