1999 Jetta transmission

I'm looking to buy a used auto tranny for this vehicle, is there a year range I can look at for a compatible one or do I need to get one specifically for a 99? 4 cyl 2.0 I think.

Angry No!!!!!!

Bro! Dont change it to an automatic!! why dont u like manual. Manual is way better than automatic, automatic takes the fun out of driving. Dont do it, Please, for the sake of the Jetta!!

Re: 1999 Jetta transmission

You should have the 01M transaxle. ID number is on the case. I know they're also used in Beetles, Cabrios, Golfs, GTI's & some Passats from about '95 to at least '99.5. Check with a junkyard interchange manual to see which years will fit.
