I have a 95 GT, 3.1 V6, automatic. When I'm stopped at a light there is a loud rattling noise comming from the engine. The noise occurrs only when in gear and standing still, not while moving or in park or neutral. The noise seems louder on the passenger side of the engine (near the accessory belt). Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Thank you.

Re: rattling noise when stopped in 95 GA
Well that noise did happen in my 1986 Ford Thunderbird 5.0 Elan. The noise (rattling) was a loose roader in the engine. I heard that once I roader falls out of the engine then it is not worth getting it fix (in my case with the Ford). I could be something else though

Re: rattling noise when stopped in 95 GA
It was just the bearing in my alternator.
