Question rattle noise when the a/c is running and when I give the car gas?

I bought a 99 328i a couple of months ago. Of course, out of warranty. There is a rattling noise that seems to be more on the passenger side when the a/c is running. It gets louder when I give the car gas. You can hear it outside of the car and on the inside. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem? I would appreciate any help........Thanks.

I too own a '99 328i w/ 73,000. It just developed a rattle in the A/C compressor (?). The noise is most noticeable during deceleration around 1,200 RPM, and is best described as a baseball card rattling in the spokes of a bicycle wheel. I am in the process of acquiring and replacing the Denso A/C compressor, and will update w/ the results.
