I want to put a triple gauge pod I got from www.dsmparts.com that goes into the center console vent in my 91 gsx. In order to run the lines for the gauges I need to remove the console. So, I removed the two screws from under the lower and left (of the center dash console) trim pieces, pulled the heater/vent knobs and something that seems to be around the vent itself is still attached. I looked with a mirror and see no other attach points. If I pull any harder I'll probably break it. Who has removed this before and where is this "mystery" attach point that I
am missing? Thanks. |

Re: center vent cosole removal 4 gauge pod
I figured it out, behind the center console vent is two screws which cannot be seen, on both sides inside the vent itself are two tabs which act as springs and hold the vent in. Reach in between the vents fins with a small scewdriver and unlatch the vent while pulling on it, do this on both sides of the vent and it will come out. This will expose those two screws that causes everyone to break the brackets of the center console.
