Instrument Cluster Swap

Hello All,
I'm new to this list and have recently purchased a used 2001 SE with only 23k miles on the clock. So far I'm quite happy with it. It's pretty well fitted out with leather seats, Cd player, driver and passenger HVAC, Cruise, etc. The gauge cluster has the base model information layout. What I'm curious about is wheter or not a cluster with the Driver Information Center can be swapped in or are there more sensors/parts that have to be installed with it? If anyone knows I'd appreciate it. In the interim, I'll figure out how to get a picture of it on here.

Thanks,

Chris H.

No you cannot swap it out. It uses a different PCM i believe.

I have a 2000 Bonne SE, on my speedometer the 90 & 100 MPH markers are not lighted up, the rest are fine. Wonder if this is a hard job to fix.

The rest of the car is superb in every way, I really like it.

Actually this will be hard for you guys. The instrument clusters use Digital Odometers as you know, and those are not changable but by a special center that GM has. I remember something about a bad light needing a whole switch recently, but that may not be necessary. My books don't cover 00+ models, i'm not sure how they're lit up... I'll try to find this info for you.

Re: Instrument Cluster Swap

Thanks, would like to know if it would be a possible do it yourself job, or how much it would cost to fix the lighting.
