New Gear Ratio????
I have a 1999 Silverado with a 5.3L. Right now I have stock 3.42 rear end gears. Some people have been telling me that I should put in some 3.73 gears. Does anyone know if this will make a noticeable difference? Is it worth the money?
Thanks, Shaun |

3.73s will give you a better quarter mile time. You won't notice a difference in gas mileage. I would hold off on gears until you get most of your boltons. The gears will really help when the horsepower starts to go up. I currently have the 3.42s, but I plan on making it worth my trouble getting into the rear end and getting the 4.10s.
