no heat

I have a 94 escort and recently the heat went out on me. the blower is not working at all. Also the no coolant light is on, even when the resevoir is full. Any ideas?

first thing I would check is the fuse for the blower. If the fuse is good, bad news... you want the fuse to be bad... get it?
Filling up your resevoir should take care of the no coolant light... maybe the sensor in there is on the fritz.

thanks for your reply...I did check the fuse and it is good. I guess that is bad news for me then. Would you have an idea as to what the problem might be?

There are three things you should look in to then...
1. The switch is bad (not likely)
2. The blower resistor is bad (very possible)
3. The blower motor is bad (most likely)

Use a multimeter and check for continuity through the electrical connector at the blower motor.
I am not sure how to go about testing the resistor other than changing it (which is very easy).

If you have the means to do it, it will be easiest to just plug in an alternate power source to the blower motor. If it runs, then either the switch or resistor are bad.

I actually have a similar problem, and I want to check the fuse, but cannot find the location of the heater fuse. It is marked on the fuse box under where the left foot should be, but the corresponding fuse is not there. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? I have a 1994 Ford Escort.

I had a similar problem, once, too. What fixed it for me was unplugging nad replugging in the blower motor, which, IIRC, looked just like a 3 prong 60Hz plug for an outlet, down under the glove compartment in the passenger seat.
unplugged, and replugged, and the blower has worked since. Same thing happened to my sister with her tracer, my dad found it. I called him for advice on my issue, that was his suggestion, and lo and behold, it worked!

My heater fan on my 1997 Escort quit working and it was just the resistor,

The fuse panel located by your left foot does show the heater fuse on the list, but I believe it is actually located just above the fuse panel to the right. I think you have to flip up a little door to check it. It isn't a colored fuse like the others.
