Re: any mods for my '89 gts ae92 rolla?

plenty, probably alot more than you have cash hehe j/k the 1989 has the half red top 4age meaning it is the same motor as the ae86 differences include: fwd of couse, stronger block rods and crank and possibly slightly bigger injectors. their are so many routes to take with your car it would take like 2 pages to explain them all. The 4ag does not respond to well to bolt ons compared to other cars but a air intake makes the biggest difference a header is almost a waste of money you will only gain about 10 hp at the crank and thats if your motor is in good shape. get an exhuast first of couse but next a lightend fly wheel and cams (along with valve springs) will wake your car up big time, the 4ag loves to rev and you can safley raise the red line another 300-500 rpm. Forced introduction: you could turbo charge the motor you have but why do this when you can just get the supercharged version of your motor called the 4agze it came in the 88-89 mr2 and jdm ae92-ae101 trueno/levens there are different variations of it but in the end it would be cheaper think about it all ready has bigger injectors bigger rods lower comp. pistons and has its own after aftermarket plus is you have alot of cash you could track down a old HKS twin charge kit that puts a turbo kit on your already super charged motor lots of power. A more expensive route is N/A toyota has a bunch of newer versions of the 4ag besides the 4agze their is two 20 valve version that have lots of potential but cost alot they have indevidual throttle bodies from the factory and the later ae111 (came in ae111 trueno/levin) model has 165 hp stock. the cheapest route and actually a favorite motor for ae86 swaps in japan is the ae92 high comp or small port engine the motor has a beter flow desiegn than previous 16v 4ag's and makes around 150 hp from the factory motor has lots of internal goodies like oil squirters and 10.5:1 compression ratio from the facotory they have lots of touque and is the eisiest to swap you can use every thing you have in your car now no need for any wiring or ecu re programming. HOpe this helps also companies for the 4ag are mostly in japan but here are a few Toda, revolver , techno pro spirit, techno toy tuning ,
and some resource parts suplier sites are toysport.com and club4ag.com
good luck with your car
