Question Need advice on a decision!

So I have been toying with the idea to sell my car, after I get it repainted. The main reason I want to sell it is to pay off a few bills, then either start a new project or finance a 03 Mach 1. I haven't totally decided on which route I would go, but I think the Mach 1 is slightly ahead right now. Basically I just want your guys opinions on weather I should keep my GT and continue modding it, should I sell it and start a project, or sell it and finance a Mach 1?

Re: Need advice on a decision!

I'd said if you want a Mach 1 then you should wait until the 2005 Mustang comes out and then buy the Mach 1 since people are bound to trade them in for the 2005 or just sell them themselves at a lower price.

Re: Need advice on a decision!

I would say sell your car if you knew that you could get another Fox bodied 5.0 without too much trouble. The Mach 1 does look preety sweet so I couldn't fault you for going that route.

arrg. Man look at it this way. Do you want to be 70 years old later on in life thinking to yourself. "Man I wish I would of just held on to that car." Keep the GT. Make it run faster than a mach1 or cobra. You will get more self gratifacation ou of it

Re: Need advice on a decision!

id sell the car, i know you probably want to move on to bigger and better things like a mach 1, but id wait for the 05s to come out, that way dealerships might also be trying to get rid of overstock and could give you a good deal.

I thought about trading mine in too, but I just don't want to deal with that kind of payment. And for a Mach 1 it aint gonna be no joke, dont forget about insurance. I say keep yours and put a bad ass blown motor in it.

Re: Need advice on a decision!

i SAY YOU INVEST IN A WHOLE NEW BLOCK, HEADS ETC....... You could get a 20-30,000$ loan (half of the Mach 1 loan) and build a much better faster car.
Remember, new gets old after a few years, and your "new" mach 1 will be old in 3 years anyways along with your huge loan payments and hefty insurance bill. So you will be in the same spot as now but modding a very expensive vehicle and owing a ton on it and probabally thinking, "why did I do this"?

Just My OPinion

Re: Need advice on a decision!

...and get convicted when they lie about their age. Dont sell the GT. Like what has been said several times already, Keep it and build it. With as much work as you have done to that car I'm sure you have grown attached to it. Also if im not mistaken your car is lighter then a mach, therefor easier to make faster. Take the money you could put towards a mach and build that GT. You can build one hell of a motor for around $4k. Thats like 550+hp...at the flywheel. Go carburated. Speed Demon 750 with Edelbrock's Victor series intake and heads. Forged pistons, rods, and a new crank. Stroke a 351w for a few hundred more bucks and get alot more torgue. Or boost a 302. If your working on a budget theres no reason to spend all the extra $$$ for fuel injection, some may say that a carb is an inefficient way of providing fuel, but with all the new carbs coming out you cant go wrong. Stay away from Holley unless you wanna make adjustments all the time (Holleys dont like to stay set), get an Edelbrock if you want about a $250 carb thats pretty good and made for everyday driving, or a Demon if you want precision. Kick that mass air and all the other shit right out the door. Sorry for the long post.
