hello -
Is there a good source that lists what transmissions went with what engines and what model years? And in turn what can be swapped with what using the orginal mounts and drive shafts? I'm interested in using this motor adaptor http://www.canev.com/KitsComp/Compon...dapter-Kit.jpg which "will fit the S10 V6 (2.8L and 2.2L) and 4 cylinder (2.5L)". The 2.8L V6 I think matches up to the 1985-1993 models. The 2.2L has me confused as that is what is in my '97 truck, but as a 4-cyl. And I'm not sure when the 2.5L was used. If possible I'm thinking it would be nice to assemble this adaptor and matching tranny into a newer S-10 (or maybe a Nissan or Toyota if it fits?) so as to get a clean rust-free body. As a side note, the 5-speed tranny in my '92 shifts nice... the 5-speed in my '97 makes me crazy as it is hard to find the gears as I shift. I don't know if this is a quirk with my particular truck or if something in general. Thanks. |
