S-10 transmission interchangeability?

I have a 89 s-10 with a 2.5L/5-speed manual. Does anyone have a list of transmissions that will work. I found a 84 camaro with a v-6/5-speed, wondering if it will interchange.

I think you are correct. The camaro shifters are located further back according to a book I read about putting a V-8 in an S-10. They claim that if you don't want to relocate your shifter location (cutting another hole in your floor) to use a full size truck transmission.

Re: S-10 transmission interchangeability?

if the camaro has a 2.8 v6, then it will work cuz the 2.5 and the 2.8 use the same transmission, same bellhousing and everything....so give it a shot
