Unhappy i need some help with an 85 gt

i really hope someone can help me, i have a list of things to do with my 85 mustang gt. i got it at an auto auction at a tow company for $360 and it definetly needs work. my biggest problem right now is the shifter. i dont know much about cars yet but im definetly trying. when i first got it it was shifting fine then i got a red light where i put it in neutral then it wouldnt shift at all...coldnt gte it into any gear. so i took it to my mechanic neighbor and he told me the clutch was shot. so i had my school shop instal a new high performance clutch because the car store said to get a performace clutch (somehting with the stock clutch being cheap. so they did the clutch and a new flywheel and it was fine for about a mile until the same stop light and it did the same thing. my school shop said the clutch cable needed to be adjusted but it should be fine to drive home. so can anyone give me any help with this problem i have. PLEASE!!

Do you know if the throw-out bearings and springs were replaced along with the clutch? If these parts have been changed then you may need to replace the master cylinder for the clutch.

well, replacing the clutch master cylinder would be all well and good, but stangs have mechanical clutches. no hydraulics involved, just a cable, quadrant, and some levers.

Re: i need some help with an 85 gt

well i asked around and i keep getting the same answer, "adjust the clutch cable" so i will try that. now another question, my hazards work, the car turns on, but my headlights, tails and turns do not work. but they did a few weeks ago...is there a circuit breaker or hidden fuse box somewhere, because the only fuse box i know of is the one below the steering wheel. my turn lights and brake lights worked before i changed the starter selonoid, could that be it? as far as headlights and running lights, it somthing else, a fuse or a circuit breaker or somthing, because the switch for it doesnt do anything, not even the dash or instruments. any help is greatly needed and appreciated

probably your fuses at fault here. the fuse box is located behind a trim panel. it's right below the steering column. there are 4 phillips head screws to take out, and it pops right off. should be a diagram of the box in your owners manual, or in a chilton's/hayne's manual
