question on rotors

I see some cars and their rotors and they look nice but mine are pretty bad. I've had my suv for 5 years now and it doesn't look as bad as my brand new car! I know it's made out of iron and are supposed to rust but mine doesn't look appealing to the eyes? I'm also afraid that when I do brake and the rust comes off it goes and sticks somewhere else on the car and starts something bad where I can't see??
Well, my question is that...should I have it replaced? If not then how can I keep from rusting so much? I hope there is something that can be done?

unless its warped or you have other brake problems dont worry about it and no the rust wont spread to the rest of the car

Hes right. No rust won't spread anywhere else. You could try sand blasting just the rust part and paint it with high quality paint for a little bit of protection and to make you feel safer. But it should be a really big deal.
