Just brought home 2002 gt. Need some suggestions on reaching 300hp

First of all, hello to all. I just bought my 2002 gt today and am very excited. The last mustang I owned was a 1995 gt which I sold in 98. It's good to be back in a stang.

Anyway, I would like suggestions as to what I could do to get to 300 or so whp with a nice gain in torque. If I could stay bolt on that would be great as I would like to do most work myself. I do understand the principles as to what it takes, but would like suggestions on specific products that have been proven to work well with the 4.6 SOHC gt.

I may go forced induction at some point but would like to get to 300 without it, if financially feasible. I may just go F/I if this becomes to expensive an endeavor without.

If you could be so kind as to give a rough estimate as to the cost of such an endeavor, just parts, not labor, that would be very appreciated.

I would like to maintain daily driveability as I will be driving my car quite a bit. It is not going to be a dragster or "race car", anything like that.

I realize this may be an interesting task. If it turns out that it is going to be outrageous I may just go FI. We'll see what everyone can come up with.

Hey, look into VT Engines. They make some pretty badass cams for the Modular engines. The tested some out on a bone stock Stang and it picked up 28rwhp and 11 ft/pnd torque at peak with their Stage 2 cams! It also picked up alot of power throughout the powerband. Im sure with LTs, X/Hpipe and PnP heads and a good tune youll be closer to, if not over, the 300rwhp youre looking for.

FI will be cheaper..... I'll tell you that right now. 300RWHP. 300 Flywheel could be done wit wit bolt-ons cheaper cause any F/I will go way beyond that.
