Traction Control
Hey, I have a '98 P71 and I was wondering about the Electronic Traction Control. Somone said that it works great in the rain rain, otherwise turn it off. I was wondering exactly why it's only good in the rain, does it hinder performance on dry pavement? I always thought it worked wonders on curves. And how exactly do you turn it off?

Are you certain you have ETC? Very few P71s were optioned with it, and the car MUST have ABS to have TC.
Traction Control on the earlier cars is low speed, meaning it only works below about 25 MPH. To disable TC, you need to toggle the switch in the glove box EVERY time you start the car, because it defaults to "on". Traction control will prevent, to a very large degree, wheel spin. Even on wet or snowy roads. It will also make the car accelerate slightly slower than it would w/o TC, but unless you are "racing" or really paying atention, it's not worth turning it off every time you start the car.
