did chevy only make the 2.3 in the cavaliers for one year (95)

yes it was only in the 95 jbodies. although the 2.3 was in a host of other cars since around 1990, there were many verations of this motor, there was the LO 2.3 quad that made 150hp (LD2), there was the HO 2.3 that made different hp ratings as time went by (170-185) (LGO) then there was the W41 which made 195hp, there was also a SOHC motor that made something like 120hp . In 1996 they discontinued the 2.3 and went with the 2.4 twin cam (LD9).
