Ok, I have read every post I could find...
Under no circumstances can I get the waterpump off of my 95 Aurora. I have the Lisle "tool", have heated the thing up with a propane torch, and still cant get this thing off! Anyone have any tips or advice? It seems the tool dosent want to bite, otherwise I can just spin the fan around clockwise all day long. Any help would be greatly appreciated today! |

Re: Waterpump
Start tapping(lightly beating)on it around the perimeter of the body. Try not to damage anything else, but at this point you have nothing to lose.

Re: Waterpump
Just being curious, did you leak anifreeze, infront of the passenger tire, when it was going out?

No, there was no leakage prior. If you have some coming out of the passenger side of your engine, I would not guess it to be the waterpump, as it is on the drivers side of your engine. Maybe you have a small radiator leak! Good luck!

Had a similar problem with the waterpump on my aurora. None of the parts stores around here carried the special tool, so i had to improvise. There is a weep hole on the nose of the pump that pushes through the housing (by the pulley). I was able to turn the pump loose of the housing by sticking a punch into this hole and rotating the pump loose. Thought this might help some of you boys (and girls of course) in the future.
