improved ride
Love my 2000 Rodeo. With 83,000 miles, how can I improve the ride? Changed shocks and new tires, but it just isn't enough.
Thanks in advance. |

Re: improved ride
Yes the stock shocks in Isuzu stink!
Couple of things you can do. 1. Replace the shocks. Many folks have replaced them with Monroe sensa-tracs (see my FAQ at the bottom for part number and a place to buy them) cost under 125.00 for 4 shocks. Install yourself or take it elsewhere. This will make the biggest improvement. 2. New Tires 3. Replace the rubber bushings in your sway bar up front to poly bushings. 4. New Springs. I would do the shocks, and try to find a source for poly bushings. -Ryan

Re: improved ride
I agree with Amigo-2k.
I replaced my shocks & springs with Old Man Emu. Great improvement. I got a 2.75" lift by using Trooper rear springs and torquing the torsion bars for the front. I replaced the auto hubs with manual locking hubs. Help reduce wear on half-shafts and gave me a 1-2 MPG improvement. I also added BGF AT's. All said and done, I had a huge improvement in the ride. No more diving on the front end and leaning in the corners. You might want to make sure your wheel bearings are repacked and not loose. Doing this will get ride of the front suspenion rattle when you go over bumps. |

Old Man Emu seems to get good feedback on these forums. I think this will be my next mod. That and bushings sound to be good ideas for the expense.

Re: improved ride
If the ride is still to mushy try the Rancho shocks, they have ones that have 9 adjustable settings.
