Erratic Temp Gage On 3.1 Prix

Temp Gage Fluctuates From 130 To 200 Degrees Continuously. I Have Replaced The Thermostat With A 195 Degree And The Coolant Temperature Sensor. Sometimes The Voltage Readout Drops To About 12 When Idleing After The Engine Gets Operating Temperture. Could This Be A Grounding Problem Causing Bad Gage Reading Or A Bad Sensor? New Battery Also Installed Just In Case A Bad Cell Was In Battery.

Re: Erratic Temp Gage On 3.1 Prix

I have a 94GP SE and the problem that I had was a lower than real temp reading. I replaced all you replaced except the low coolant sensor. The needle oscilated herraticaly from 190 to 210 back and forth, because of this the fans would start too late and the car would heat up quickly. I replaced the low coolant sensor and the car is running fine. My mechanic told me that the low coolant sensor is also used to calculate the temp reading. Do you have the low coolant light on?
