Restoring My 79' 280zx, Need help with Paint, Body

Ok, i just got my Datsun 280zx for 450$, yet everything is in good shape, but the inside is a bit beat up. The body is in good condition, some bondo and the front is primed. But the rear lefthand quarter panel is rusted, badly. Well its the top of it, some of it is rusted right through, but the amound of rust is actually small. So, do i get a new panel or can i fix it somehow? can someone tell me about repairing a thing like this? bondo, ect ect. I am also sanding it very soon, after that, im painting it.
Where can i get tips on painting my car? i havent the slightest clue. Do i use spraypaint from a can, just alot of it? what do i use for the finish?
thanks alot.
