Help me Please

My girlfriend is buying an Acura Integra and we went to the sales man today but they were closed. I have noticed that the g3 acc's dont come with the model tags. It was listed as a 1995 gs 2door, 5spd, leather interior, power everything(hope that helps). I am canadian but this car was imported from the U.S. I have been searching the .net to find info in it but I cant find it anywhere. All I find is a GS-R. How would I be able to tell the difference between a ls,rs,se,gs-r
It definately is not a type R. Help me please!!!!!!
Is there somewhere I can find info and specs on these cars??

Oh yea whats up with the front grill. I've never seen threee lights on an acc before anyone else no anything about this?

If it is a GS, it has a 140hp 1.8L.
The GS-R has a 170hp 1.8L.

RS, GS, LS, and SE share the same powerplant, and it is a GS because of the options you listed.

GS-R's have a small silver plate on the rear which says "DOHC VTEC" that is how you know it is a GSR.

That front end must be some whack kit. I dunno if I'd buy that, it looks nasty! :apuke:

It's a GSR cause it has body colored side moldings unlesss someone painted or changed them. Just check under the hood and if it says VTEC, then its a GSR

This is asuming the car hasnt been modified.

Check the gauge cluster. GSR's would have a higher redline than the Ls/RS/special edition. GSR redline is at 8200k while the others are lower, at 7500K rpms I believe(sorry, forgot already, been used to 9K+rpms lately... hehehe)

or check the motor.

That is an aftermarket front bar....I've seen it on a web site before, pretty disgusting if you ask me. I'd get them to change the front bar for you if you contemplated buying it.

Here are signs that you can check to see if the Teg is a GSR.

The valve cover should read DOHC VTEC and underneath that it should read Honda Motor Company.

GSR's come with a stock black strut bar and they are the only one with the strut bar (the Type R has a silver square like strut bar)

The motor looks bigger and has a silver spark plug cover.

The motor should look exactly like this

The type R motor looks the same but has a different valve cover (red) and a different intake manifold.
Here is pic of the Type R motor, just keep a look out for the writing that says DOHC VTEC cuz if it doesn't then it's a GS, LS, RS not a GSR.

Remember not DOHC VTEC no GSR

if you dont have access to the inside the only way to tell from the outside apart from any obvious badges is if you look at the back hatch window, if it has two littlel plastic circles at the bottom its not a gsr, becuase they dont have any (ever) i've never seen that headlight conversion, dont like it at all

what a car, if you ask me looks like a loaded GS, with front fascia, and rims. And if you ask me I definatley would not invest my money in something that has been toyed with, find something stock and start from scratch, that way you know your not getting totally ripped. like the rest of the guys said the only real way to check would be to "LOOK UNDER THE HOOD" check for engine codes on the transmission and on the block. B18b1 =RS,LS,GS, and SE, all non Vtec, B18c1= GSR,B18c5 american typeR. horse power on b18b1 140hp 127lbft, b18c1 170hp 128lbft, B18c5 195hp 130lbft. SE and some GS came with same options as GSR,such as leather, sun roof, spoiler, visually its damn hard to tell, speacially if it has been tampered with. So ask for the keys and look under the hood.

Usually the valve cover is the easiest way to tell, the GSR and Type R Valve cover are the same.

The GSR and Type R's valve cover cannot fit on the LS, RS, GS versions-the head on the LS, RS, GS are smaller and therefore cannot fit the VTEC Valve cover.

Updates

first off I'd like to thank u guys for all your help
I really appreciate it

I went there today and this is what I found out!

The car is a U.S. model. It has 103 miles(is that alot?)Not too sure about the conversion. The interior is grey leather w/lil' bit of ware.
vin = jh4dc4359ss000527 the two (ss= may be a 5 not sure the dealer wrote it down for me) Is there anyway I can find the history of this car since its a U.S.??? We only have the records of one owner here since it was brought over. The dealer also told me that it was a ls-se but it was advertised as a gs

is there a difference between the ls and the gs special editions??
Since the rs,ls,gs share the same engine does this make all 3 trims the same??

1) It aint v-TEC THEREFORE AINT AINT A GSR
2) It hasn't been fucked with besides the front grill and air intake

I dont know boy

well the sidemoldings are painted and it has a spoiler(unless thats modded too) so it must be an ls which is a step down from a GSR but no VTEC

1 - 103 miles is approximately 165 kms

2 - i think for the US it's something called "carfax". don't quote me on this because i vaguely remember this from the old PH.

3 - the three trims (aside from the engine) are not the same. RS had the smallest brakes, and the ls/se and gs shared the same options (leather seats, spoiler, etc). T.O.tegs could tell you but i haven't seen that guy on here lately.

hope this helps

Those lights are weard, but I can't believe how clean the work is. Looks almost like factory, but I don't think Acura would every make a front end look so ugly. my 2 cents.
