KA24DE turbo or SR20DET turbo engine?

Turbo Magazine recently has published an article on the Greddy Turbo kit for the KA24DE on the American S14, as a substitution for those of us who desire a tubo but don't want to swap in an SR20DET. Do you think that the tubo on the KA is better than a turbo on the SR? The magazine said that the KA turbo with the Greddy Kit and intercooler would make more than the SR turbo. This probably was a stock setup on the SR, but which is the better buy?

the greddy turbo kit probably has a td-0516g, that will flow alot more then the stock t-25 turbo that the sr20det has...
the reason it makes more hp is b\c of all the add ons you get, like fmic, downpipe, intake, ect.. and of course greedy e-manage..

Yeah I read that issue too... keep in mind though the kit costs about 4k+ if you get the highly recommended fmic. And I've heard that it only works with OBDII compliant cars which are late 95+ models... Try FMAX, realnissan, revhard? Also, they did in fact test the greddy kit against a stock SR but most people up the boost anyway, and upgrading the SR turbo is still a very viable option. As with most of the advice of KAT owners... you're better off piecing up your own parts to make your own kit.

Bryants, if you are talking about my post, do you mean there are a lot more? If you do, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post some others. I already know about the realnissan but i am trying just trying to look around for the best deal. thanks!

Ive heard some bad things about their kit for the 240.Missing parts,bad fitment,poor quality etc. if i were you i would stay away from it get like the FMAX kit,realnissan.Theres others out there also just use google.Or you could piece together your own

UR KA SUX

get an sr buddy. lighter, stronger and a lot more aftermarket for it. there's a reason why people swap in sr's. low mileage too and made for a turbo. better resale value.

Look at Mrflip69's post again. KA24DET vs SR20DET. Thats what i thought. People swap SRs because it is cheaper and easier that a ka. Any motor can be made for a turbo. strengthen internals and upgrade the fuel system. Besides, you can run 10's or drift without that "JDM shizzo yo." Oh and when it comes down to it, if you don't sell your car to someone who knows about hi performance cars, you will get a bluebook price set. Go to any auto price quote website and see if they care about an SR swap or that JDM shizzo.
