Hello! I'm new to the forum (yea, had no idea existed), and would love some advice for this one. My quirky wagon's starter just bit the dust and my dad and I plan on replacing it ourselves. Only problem, we don't really know how. Has anyone done this before? Any hints, suggestions, plans of action, etc.? Ok, super.

Re: starter help
well to do this the top mount intercooler will need to come off... if your car is a twin turbo you will find the starter motor near the primary turbo.. un bolt and replace.. pay carefull attention to where and what hoses came off what...

Re: starter help
This is one reason I bought a Subaru legacy, very easy to do any repairs, not that they exist that often. Now in my car the starter is located on the left top side of the engine, you just have to unhook the battery first (safety), unbolt the starter, unhook its wires and just put another one.
