Stock radios and various years...

I have a 96 camaro and I am looking to swap the stock tape deck with a stock CD player. I know that the other option was a bose cd deck, but locating one for a decent price has proven difficult. Does anyone know if one can swap out the deck with any other years than 93-96 for the one I have in right now? I know some other model vehicles (for example I swapped a factory deck from a 2000 intrepid with a 96 dodge full size p/u) can, but I was wondering if anyone else has tried.

i'm sure it'll work, they don't really get much different with the radios.

it should work with anything from 96 and up. from what ive been told, the cd player wasnt and option in 94 or 95...
