suspension hrmm????

Hey i need some opinions
tokico illumina struts are kinda what i wanna get but are they any good and if not what would yall recommend?
and for coilovers whats good i was considering skunk2's or eibach ground controls? i put illumina R coilover setup on layaway until a guy told me it isnt possible and that i would have to change my front control arms to 92+ control arms.. but neways i juss need some strut/shock and coilover opinions for my ride. suspension is such a important thing.
thanks

As with most aspects of your car, it depends on a few different things. How much do you want to spend? What kind of performance are you looking for?

A lot of people around here run with Tokico's & Skunk2 coil-overs. I've got Skunk2's on my car & love 'em. I just need the struts to complete the package.

However, for the price of a good set of coilovers & struts you could pick up a Tein suspension complete coilover setup. I've thought about going that route, but I probably won't since I'm already happy with my Skunk2's.

Re: suspension hrmm????

u are definatley gonna like it

i am amazed at how well these hondas can handle with the right mods...

do you have sway bars? they probably made the biggest diff on my car .. and ofcoz, losing the really lame 13" super narrow wheel/tire combo

Re: suspension hrmm????

yeah i am using 2000 si wheels & 50-series as well

the 99-2k si wheels are a very tasteful and functional choice for 88-91 Civic/CRX IMO

for upper strut braces, i have neuspeed front .. ebay rear ... the neuspeed i adore .. the ebay one is ok, i would like something better ..

for lower control arm subframe braces .. cusco front (JDM) .. neuspeed rear .. both are good and seem to do their job ..

i highly recommend the neuspeed front upper .. it is a 1-piece , tubular steel and triangulated .. not a multi-piece .. it really works too

hope to grab a jimfab cross member soon .. Mugen HD rubber bushings .. and new ball joints / tie rods.. along with DA trailing arms w/ 9.5" discs and 91 EX 4dr front knuckles w/ the 10.x" DA brakes as well

that should "finish" the suspension nicely...

Strut bars & sways bars are 2 competely different things! Strut/tie bars hardly do any thing while sway bars actually do something. But then again everyone here is a racecar driver & knows all about suspension. . . . . . as you can see . . . .

LOL...Yeah, arn't all civic owners racecar drivers!!...LOL. Seriously though, you're right. If they can't get the difference between sway bars and strut tower bars right, then you really have wonder about the advice being given, lol. Also, recommending coilovers like skunk2? Coilovers give you a crappy right, unless it's a good tuned suspenion set of fully threaded ones like the H & R cup kit or Teins. If they are looking for separete shocks/springs, then dump the idea of "coilovers" like skunk2 and get a good set of springs, like H & R or the Eibach pro-kit. Learn what is what, what is good, etc. If you don't know something (like the difference between strut and sway bars), learn about it before you give people advice.
