All right, I have a 94 Grand Prix with about 112K miles. Runs great, nicest car I've had in a while. However, after driving this car for a bit I noticed it kept losing coolant. Never saw any on the ground, so I assume it's going in the oil and out the exhaust. Constantly ran hot, fans never come on. I assume intake gasket and head gasket need replacing, would like specifics, maybe website? with details on how to replace it.
Since car has overheated several times should I just say the hell with it? Or replace the engine altogether? Does this 3.1L engine have an aluminum block? I know these problems are common. . .thanks for your help.

Re: 94 grand prix with leak, fans don't work, etc!
I have a 93 Grand Prix with 3.1 that had same problem with coolant leak and fans not coming on. Auto repair shop pressure tested coolant system and found small leak in head gasket. (small leak ---BIG price $1500) With 139000 miles I decided against that. I used K & W block sealer and it fixed the leak. Maybe for 10 or 20 thousand miles but it was worth it. Replace coolant temperature sensor for fan problem. That worked for mine.
