first your going to need some decent coilovers or lowering springs:$200-$300(ground control or skunk2 coilovers) also your going to need a camber kit cause you dont wanna buy new tires ever now and then and have your wheels stick out like this / \. You can go hydraulic or air if you want but it can get pretty expensive, i seen some kits from $800-1500, but with this you can adjust your height anytime you want and don't even have to get out the car.

oh and if your going to slam your car then you should also get some koni, kyb or tokiko shocks.

don't buy coilover sleeves they suck. you'll bounce yourself to death. if you're gonna get coilovers, get true coilovers, don't go the cheap way because you'll regret it. get some lowering springs such as sprint, neuspeed, eibach. you're gonna need some new shocks withing about 4 months of when you lower it. and you're gonna need a camber kit. and get an alignment right away (i know from experience, i had to replace my tires because my car was out of alignment for about a month)

Don't go with some sleeze ball brand that jumped on the sport compact bandwagon! Most of these brands are just in it for a buck and have not researched before they developed. (Then others just copy a reputable companies research.)
I agree that the sleeve type 'coil-overs' are crap, in most cases. May I recommend H&R? Or maybe, B&G Suspension? Also, get a good set of shocks (adjustable if you can). Tokico is my preference. Anti-sway bars. Strut tower bars. And a PROPER rim/tire size. (17" & 18" rims and tires are for looks...not worth the $$$) Stay away from those air bags...

Ground control coilovers with Tockico blue shocks on my ride seem fine. Unless im doing some heavy autoxing, im not paying a grand on "true" coilovers.

u could chop the springs but the shocks wouldnt last a month or two.
the ride would be very bouncy and dangerous so dont think about doing it |
