He said if i didint that my stock shocks would blow and i would wear my tires out well i figured he was just trying to sell me some more shit and told him maybe some other time. ..........Well here i am 3 months later about to bitch about how my rear shocks are wasted and how fuc*in bad my toyo tires have worn the front tires are worn but only from the inside. see i know i fucked up but know i need to fix this problem fast. the coilovers i bought are some preety cheap brand shit. so what should i do what shocks should i get and will that fix the problem? and do i need a camber kit ? if so what kind? one more what the fuck is a camber kit seriously i here people say i need one but what does it do? thanks sorry its so long but its been a while since i posted

Re: messing up my tires fast need help
When was the last time you got an alignment? Changing the height of the car or any suspension component you should always get an alignment.
Also in my opinion toe affects tire wear more than camber. I've been dropped about 2.25" for 2 years and my tires wear great. I rotate my tires every 3000-4000 miles and I have 0 toe front and rear with -2.7 camber front and -2.0 rear.

Re: messing up my tires fast need help
You should always get a camber kit when lowering your car, especially that low. And also an alignment is a must. I'm no car genius but once you change your springs, its also best if you change your shocks too.

Basically, any time you change shocks or springs, it messed up the car's alginment. Toe is whether the tire is pointed straight, in, or out. To make a long story short, when you mess with the suspension, it knocks the alginment (toe is part of that) completely out of whack...you will shread your ties within weeks or months. I am supirsed the shop didn't tell you to get an alginment. That's most likely what the back tire is more messed that the front. The reason the front has a lot of inner wear is you have too much negative camber(the back will too, but it sounds as if the rear toe is worse than the front toe, a bad toe setting will shread tires quicker than bad cmaber, though both will shorten tire life). This is a natural product of lowering the car. Up to a certain point of lowering, you can get away without a camber kit. After that point though, you will experince accelerated inner tire wear, and a camber kit is needed to correct the problem. 2" or over requires a camber kit. 1.75" can vary from car to car, though most I have seen benifited from a camber kit. Something lowe in drop, like the 1.25" Eibach Pro-Kit mostly won't require a camber kit. I am sorry to say, but the shop guy was correct, you should always get new shocks when you get new springs. The spring ratio of the new springs and the dampening of the shock differ, basically to kep it short, it'll blow the stock shocks due to the stiffer spring rate, shorter travel, etc. Also, you need a camber kit to properly eliminate the inner tire wear. Also, you need to get the car algined ASAP. Remember, every time you add or change something on the suspension (shocks, springs, camber kit), you need to have the car re-algined.
