92 EB spark knock. Has new open air intake

Hey guys. I need some help.
I have a 92 EB 4X2. I replaced the old Intake with a new open filter. It gives a nice growl and a little more pep in passing and highway speeds.
It seams that after I cjhanged this I started getting a spark know.
Maybe I am running lean due to the extra air flow or Maybe I have a small vac leak that I can't find or ........
I changed the plugs the old ones where pretty bad but it had no affect. The vac tree seams to be closed up nicely but I did have to remove the air temp hose from the the factory air box.
Any I deas out there?

After a lot of back and forth with the good folks in Ford Truck Enthusiast we were able to ge tthis issue fixed.
For anyone else with a similar issue try these...
First I changed the plugs and it made no dif to the current prob. It did need to be done.
Then I ran a hose from the vac tree to the intake tube. Keep in mind that I have an aftermarket intake cone filter now and no air box.
Then I cleaned the MAF sensor with throttle body cleaner and after all of that i disconnected the batt for about three hours and then reconnected it.
Test drove and the prob was gone. Thanks to the boys at FTE!

So had you left the air intake tube to the oil filler flopping in the breeze and that threw off the MAF calculation?

No. When you remove the factory air box you lose the two hoses that are attached. One to the manifold and one to the vac tree. this actually did not make a difference. It was only an extra step to ensure to eliminate possibilities. When I actually got the the thing to stop making noise was when I pulled the MAF sensor and cleaned it and then disconnected the battery for about three hours or so.
