'93 PU/New cold air intake/bypass old intake sensor????

I am trying to put a cold air intake on my 1993 toyota pickup/22re engine. Im all set except there's that wire harness/plug that goes to some sort of sensor on top of the stock air cleaner assembly. Im guessing it's just some sort of forced fan type of air flow switch and need to bypass it.

First, if Im wrong on that, please stop me and set me straight. But if Im correct, I would assume the sensor prolly has 12v and ground and one or two outputs???

I need to know how to bypass this sensor so the engine will fire and stay running. Maybe a schematic or some other info so I can figure out what type of signal to throw at it to fake it out. Im an electrician and electronics expert so I have no worries delving in there that way. Any help, helps!!! Thanx!!!

I hope to hell you did not cut anything yet. That sensor is your mass air flow sensor. It cannot be bypassed. what you can do however is modify it a little...

What I did is swap the battery with the air box. Removed the sensor and junked the air box of course. Built a adaptor from a few parts clothes dryer parts i got at my local Tru-Value Hardware so it can be a 3" hose connection in and out of the sensor. Fabbed up the intake to set it up at where the battery used to be. The sensor wire is only seven wires. if you cut it and add about 5-6 feet of wire to each, it will reach the other side. I also had to re-wire the battery. the battery tie down will only need a hole drilled in the wheel well since camper conversions have a battery on each side. If you wait a few days i'll post pictures to show you what I did. It took about 4-5 hours but it looks and runs great. (probibly only part of my engine that looks good )
