1986 Mustang 5.0 with mods for a 1996 cavalier?!?!
hey all i know im kinda on the wrong side of the forum with my name being "Chevyfreak" but thats ok im a mustang freak too...
anywayz there is a man selling his 1986 LX Mustang with a 5.0 V-8 with lots of mods...like intake,performance lifters,high output oil pump,pistons 40over,exhaust. It has about 10k since overhaul and a C-4 auto trans. The interior is in ok condition its leather interior and the body needs some work and it needs a paint job. He was selling this for $1500 obo, but he offered me a strait up trade for my 1996 chevy cavalier with 107,000. In pretty good condtion...and he would throw in a 4:10 rearend and a new fender. Is this a good deal?? Once i paint it and get it nice how much would it be worth?? And how fast?!?!?  Please dont tell me its a good deal because its a ford for a chevy please be honest. Thanks...

$1500, that is not bad, but I have not seen it. Its very hard to give advice blind, if you know what I mean.
Look to see what your Car is worth, and go from there. And change your name

Well the easiest thing to figure out is what is your car worth 1500$ or so. Don't know the shape of either car but to me why would he want to trade a car with 10,000 miles on a rebuild with some work done to it for a cavalier with 107,000 miles.

well i looked my car up and it is worth $1,450...
what do you think the mustang would be worth with a paint job and kinda prettyed up.....i know the 86' wasnt a real popular bodystyle but do you think if i did decide to sell it, it would be easy to sell?? Thanks again

Its an unrealistic question. We have no idea what its worth, because there are a lot of item you have to look at when buying a car. You could just break even, you could make a few hundred, or even a little more.
