Who here works out??

Who here works out regularly?

If so, what sort of exercise do you do?

I’m trying to get to the gym 4-5 days a week. Mainly cardio (as I have built up quite a large amount of muscle and don't need to build anymore). I just need to burn off the fat on top!

Re: Who here works out??

I don't hit the gym or anything. I just take the stairs instead of the elevator and park at the far end of the parking lot, etc., just small stuff like that.

Re: Who here works out??

i am currently trying to gain weight. therefore i am pretty similar to jimster in the aspect of training. i do very little cardio. work out 3x a week: focus on one muscle group per day.
week1:
day 1: chest, biceps, triceps.
day2: off
day3: all of the back including traps, lats, shoulders.
day4: off
day5: legs, abs, obliques.
days 6&7: play golf, (weekend) ride bike, hit punching bag.
week2: same schedule as posted, just make SURE you are not doing all of the same exercises for the same muscles. you gotta change it up. i will be back later- right now it is 6:50am and i am getting ready for school.

Re: Who here works out??

ok back from school. for the female: you should do 2-3 sets of 12-15 reps generally for any exercise. i do work out like this when i need to tone up-but as a male i am mainly going for mass. therefore, i do 4-5 sets of 6-8 reps. i try to wait 2-3 minutes between each set. i also drink water between exercises usually.
-biggest tip i can give you spec:during weight training, do not wait more than 30 seconds between each set, and no more than a minute between exercises(if possible). this will give you a somewhat cardio-experience while weight training, known as "circuit-training".

I practice martial arts: Wushu and Taiji.

5 days a week, not to mention no fast foods and lots of water and I lost a lot of weight. I only noticed the difference in my cheeks but my gf noticed it immediately, hahahahahahah, it's cool.

Re: Who here works out??

Well at the moment I'm with a personal trainer, will be for two more weeks. I basically do this twice a week.

I have
One lower body omound exercise (Squats/Dead lifts) with 2 Reps
One Upper body compound with a Push (Chest press, Press ups etc.) With 2 Reps
One Upper Body Compound with a Pull (Lat Pull down, Chin ups etc.) with 2 reps
Then usually lunges or more squats with 2 reps for a bit more compound lower.

Then Isolated Tricep, ab, glut and leg work for a bit.

With of course Cardio at the start.

I'm going to the Uni gym where I'll up my useage of it now to about 4 times and like Jim, am also a footballer.

Re: Re: Who here works out??

I usually go to the gym around 3 times a week, mostly weight training and some cardio. Also used to play a lot of footie.
However due to responsibilities piling up at work, having to study for professional qualifications when i get home, a gf who complains i dont see her enough, and friends who complain i dont see them enough, i dont have time to do diddly squat. Havent been to the gym in over a month now, which is a shame cos it helps me unwind... oh well, at least i eat healthy..

I'm with kittedb18bt, our retuine is pretty simular. I too am trying to gain weight. Would like to be around 215-220 or so, right now I'm at 201. I don't do much cardio at the gym, just lots of weights. Outside the gym is where my cardio comes in, with mt. biking and playing the drums.

I need to start working out again. I used to practice martial arts, on my own. I need to get a cardio program worked up and I need to build my upper body.
