I'm selling out, coming to the dark side.

I've pretty much decided that I'm going to pay off my Honda by May, and get a GT. The new ones coming, but I'd like to see what type of rebates they put on the 04s. If it's not strong enough, I'll throw down for the new joint, but I love the current ones too. I've just started spending a little time looking, and I tell you one thing, These things are a blast! Tourqe and recoil man, it's the American Man's favorite fun list. I just can't see putting all that loot into a Civic just to get it to be as fast as a GT, when I could just buy a GT in the first place, under warranty. And never mind how much of a crisis it would be to get a Civic in the 12's. That's my goal, and it sure seems a lot easier with a 4.6 V8 than a 1.6 I4. I like the rear wheel drive too. I thought of an S2000, but that's like fucking Mach1 money. It comes closer to a Cobra than I'd like to get with a import. I thought EVO, but still, it's an economy car with a turbo and AWD. I think I'm coming home. I've owned two fords, a Festiva(Don't laugh it was my first car) and a 78 Grenanda(SP). I loved those cars. They were very different, but they had personality. Yes even the Festiva, what with the cut coils, tinted windows and 2k worth of stereo equipment. That was when I was 19, I'm very different now, and I think It's time to step up. Holler

Re: I'm selling out, coming to the dark side.

I still like imports. I just think that Mustangs are American tradition, and they are faster stock than any Honda short of an S2k. Then again, for 30+K, I could get a nasty ass Mach1 or Cobra. I'd really like a Mach1, but I think I'll end up with a GT.

recently I started thinking that the auto industry is pretty much the life blood of the US. I think that buying American is very important now. I've always been quite a patriot, and somethins are more important than having a .003 in panel gap. I think the Japanese and others are God's children too, but we need to make sure that our guys here in Dtown have work and benes for their families. I can't wait to buy my Stang. I'll never bad mouth the foreigners, but I don't think I can get myself to buy one again either. Even if my Bro works for Honda. I mean, I work for Ford, so it just makes good sense. Some of my buddies are teasing me, but truthfully, I don't care. I'd rather do what I think is right. It's funny, the same assholes that bitch at Bush for the unemployment rate go and spend all this loot on 2 or 3 cars for them and their fam, and all of the cars are European or Asian. Don't they remember that these people are the same ones that hate what America stands for? That their Euro is hurting our dollar? That they export all day, and import hardly a fraction of what we do? The same assholes that won't send their kids to war against an faggot like Saddam, yet want to get in on all the money during and after the rebuild? FUCK THEM. It's time to show who I and what I believe. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope u Have Fun In the GT

Fortuately I only got lucky enough to snag A really nice 96 3.8 With some tricks. My Wife still doesn't approve! Why do they always do that anyway. Looking around at body kits before I do the paint on her. I also saw a really wicked hood earlier today on a site. It's in my fav's anyway.

Get a mustang dude they're hella fun and fast too with some work!

Re: I'm selling out, coming to the dark side.

Umm i'm not sure i agree with this dark side b/s or your view on buying US cause yea its good idea i agree but cause cause its a US name doesn't mean its made in US like a lot of F body camaros were made in mexico. Subie makes a bunch of its cars here. I'm not saying if you want a stang don't get it i'm just saying member other countires compaines are putting some of us to work. so don't out and out say f them. Well i hope you get it soon and make sure you put up some pix of that stang!

Re: I'm selling out, coming to the dark side.

well people buy hondas and stuff because of cheap insurance gas and reliablilty. then mod it to make it faster. If you want true speed out the box buy a buick grand national, svt etc.. their not too expensive but probably hella expensive insurance.
