What do you think?

I'm looking at a '94 3000GT SL right now and the guy wants $9,000 for the car but I was wondering what you guys thought about it. The car has:
64,000 miles
Sunroof
Danube Blue Pearl Metallic paint job

Modifications:
Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
Subwoofer
Amplifier

He won't go down any lower because he says that the modifications done on the car make it worth $9,000 and much more. However, when I was rereading some of the old messages, Yogs said something like modifcations on a car don't make the value of it go up and if someone is saying that it does is just trying to rip you off. So I was wondering what you guys thought about it?

The blue book value for the car is about $9,700......so good deal or not? If so, why? If not, why not? Thanks guys.

Re: What do you think?

Test drive the car and make sure it looks clean in and out, and it has been taken care of. It sounds like its just from the milage. I would say its a good deal, and the modifications are small ones.

The KBB value of my car was 15 when I bought it, and I paid 19. It all depends on if its worth it to you(and that blue is an awsome color).

A 94 SL does not blue book for 9700. You might want to run that again.

Of course the value of a car is determined by how much someone wants it, but you can get a 94 VR4 for only a thousand or so more then that.

Actually, I ran it a couple times in the past and right now and the value is around 9700. Isn't the value of the price of cars determined also by where one lives? I'm assuming that it's cheaper where Yogs is at....I don't know....but the value did go for around that price.

Yogs, a VR4 for about a thousand or so more? With the same mileage or not? And more importantly...WHERE??? Cause that would be sweet.

Re: What do you think?

try autotrader.com also check 3si.org and 3kgt.com check thier forums for vr4s for sale. As far as the blue book value, are you looking up the dealer price or private party value. Because that can make a big difference of a few grand. Lastly, the mods don't make it worth much more. It's just that the guy wants to get back some of the money he invested in his ride. Personally, I'm with Yogs...wait 4 the vr4...you'll be glad you did. Either way, good luck

Mods don't add to the value to insurance companies. If you get hit, you'll get back a little less than blue book.

When buying, it doesn't increase value either, although some people who want to try to reclaim the money they spent on their mods will try to sell it for more.
