Angry 91 escort starting problems

I have a 91 escort gt 1.8l 5 speed, when i turn the key nothing happens, i have power from the battery, i checked the starter- i can jump the selinoid and it will turn over fine. The car also has 2 switches for neutral safety switchs when the pedal is up there is 2 lights on the dash on (fuel cutout and brake) when i depress the pedal those lights turn off. i checked both switches ( with an ohm meter) and they appear to be ok. Has anyone seen this or can you help i am puzzled.

Re: 91 escort starting problems

Since you are able to jump the car and it sounds as if your accessories come on as they are supposed to, it sounds as if your problem may exist in the ignition switch. You know your battery is good, your starter works, the switches tested ok.... it is either a bad wire or the ignition switch.
