Im SOO confused with this camber kit stuff help!!

I lowered my car 1.8-2" in the front and like 1.7-1.75 in the rear. I called autozone to rent a spring compressor tool and they mentioned that I need a camber kit definately because my tires will destroy quick. On these forums people say I need a kit only if i lower more than 2 and others say only if i lower more than 1.5. The guy at autozone said he lowered his like 1 1/4" and he needed a kit. Do I need one or not!?! Whats the real truth!?!?!?!?!?

i don't know if you need camber kit, i'm not too familiar with suspension modifications on 5gen accords, but i know this; you need to get your car into alignment shop, that is only one way to know for sure if you need camber kit and what kind.

Hey, I know it sounds a little weird coming from me, but especially because I slammed my car all the way 3 in drop for a whole year Oct 2002 thru Oct 2003. The tires were atleast another 1 and 1/2 year old before I lowered my car with it on. It wasn't until Sept of 03 when my tires eventually went bald on me. However, for some odd reason, cambers are really bad on Civics and their tires are balded out within only a summer. I've got quite a few friends experiencing them that way. You can totally see it. For accords, they just slopes inward into the wheel well and doesn't even look bad, however, it took really long until I had to replace mines. I own a 2 dr 1994 accord by the way.

you should go to a shop and get an alignment, or do the simple test with a piece of 2x4 and a leveler place the 2x4 ont eh rims flat surface, and the level on there so you can see what the level is.. hopefully it is only a bit off.. generally wheels have a 1-3 degree camber...like this /-\ but not to that extreme.. 3 degree camber will give you better handling in corners, but you are best on tire wear to run at a 1 degree camber.... a better way to guage camber would be to make an angle measure on a level surface with a large straightedge and ruler to measure the gap at the bottom and the top.. and work out the geometry to get the angle of camber...

So from this info my logic tells me that since Ive dropped like 2 max in front and 1.75 max in rear theoretically I have a little longer life span than you did with my tires. correct?
