Alright, first post: I need a little help.
The fog lights on my "new" Camaro stopped working. I think it's a lose connection somewhere because they worked fine when I got the car... and now they seem to come and go. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. The owners manual doesn't say if any of the fuses are tied in with the fog lights... I pulled a bunch (not all, it's damn cold out) and they look fine. I also have one of those 3rd party repair manuals, which says very little about the fuses, and NOTHING about the fog lights. I don't think it's a fuse now anyway, seeing as they did come on for a brief period the other day. Anyway, I guess I'm just looking for pointers from anyone else who may have had the same problem... I'll take what help I can get. Anything is better they crawling around in the freezing cold without a clue what I'm looking for. >>> I have an 89 IROC-Z. |

Re: Fog Light Problem
first off, there's definately a fuse for em if they're stock, if the fuse panel doesn't say which fuse is for em, check your owners manual, there's a diagram of you fuse panel in there, also, if i'm correct, the switch for em us underneath you headlight switch, you can pull the panel the switch is mounted in out and check the connections there, also, you can remove the foglights and check the wiring there, make sure your bulbs are in tight.

Re: Fog Light Problem
i too own an 89 IROC, and have the 89 camaro service manual. if you would like, i can scan the fog light wiring diagram, and email it to you. that could help your situation. i would however asume that all your fuses are fine, because a blown fuse does not make and brake contact, once it blows, thats it, its done. it does sound like a loose terminal somewhere, or a wire rubthrough, if the wire looses insulation, and is tapping against a body panel and grounding out the circut, it will turn off the lights, and a loose terminal will make and brake contact turning the lights on and off. your just gonna have to trace the path of the wires, from the foglights back, and try to find the problem. but id be more than happy to send the the schematics to help if you want.

I figured there wouldn't be an easy solution.
Thanks for your help, and I'll let you know if I need that diagram...
