3.1 engine swap

I am looking to swap out a 3.1 liter v-6. The car has California emissions. Can I swap in a 3.1 without california emissions? Would I have to change out the onboard computer and wiring harness? We don't have emissions testing where I live so that isn't a problem.

No, the 3.1 had the same emissions equipment in all 50 states, I believe. I'll ask on another forum, just to double check.
