Car Stereo Question - Newbie
Hi Guys,
I recently purchased a Clarion DXZ535 HU for my 92 Civic. It reads 52X4 Watts(Rms = 18). The problem is that If I turn the volume up to about 15 or so, my speakers cannot handle the bass. I have infinity speakers in the back that read 45 watts on them. I'm wondering if I should get new speakers, and what speakers do I get? I'm really not interested in blowing my brains out with a sub or amp or anything like that. I just want speakers that will handle the HU I purchased, so I can turn the volume up loud. Any suggestions? My front 2 speakers dont seem to have any issues, but the back do. I'm not even sure what speakers are in the front, since I'm not the original owner of the car. Basically, my questions are: 1) Should I replace back 2 speakers or all 4? 2) What do I replace with? 3) I'm not looking to spend that much money as this is an old car. Main Goal: Ability to turn volume up with a good amount of bass. Please help. Thanks. |

a good amount of bass requires a subwoofer of some type .......
generally, full volume occurs BEFORE the head unit reackes it's max position (number) and turning it up more will just cause it to clip more and more. For OEM units, that's like maybe halfway or so |

Re: Car Stereo Question - Newbie
you could go with some infinity kappa speakers, look on ebay, try to get the 3 ways... these are the best that i have heard so far. give decent base for speakers, you'll never get very much base out of speakers, and you will probably never be able to turn your volume all the way up.
