Question 1999 Passat Windshield Washer low light wont go off.

Hi. A first time poster here...

I just bought a 99 Passat GLX and am having issues with the winshield washer fluid level light being on all the time. I filled up the tank and it still is on. Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance.

I think that there should be a low level float that might got stuck or shorted out perhaps taking it out and cleaning it might help.

there is a low level sensor in the tank. In order to reach it you need to remove the driver side front fender liner. Its a circle sensor that simply pushes into the washer fluid resivour. Check to see if its plugged in first, it its plugged in properly than the sensor is bad.
