Rear strut upper mount

I am getting ready to change out my rear upper mounts on my neon. The rubber bushing in them are completely worn out. Has anyone done this and if i mark it will i have to get it aligned afterwards?

Re: Rear strut upper mount

I used to do alignments on cars years ago. I have never done rear wheel alignment.. if you can hold on untill tommorrow i can give a better reply. i can tell you this much...... Chock the front of the car so it wiil not roll. then jack the rear and put jack stands under body....under the strut you want to change jack it up a little to support the strut maybe a half inch....remove two nuts at the lower part of the strut do not....do not.... turn the bolts do i need to say it again ? The two bolts at the bottom are serrated . mark bolts to strut and knock out or pull out....remove the four nuts on the tower (inside of the car) and drop out strut. Maybe I should have told you to remove the tire first install in reverse
