How many events a month, do they go on during the week at all, and how intense is this... i just started driving 2 years ago! Thx alot!

First off where do you live at?

For the most part, most regions only have 1-2 races per month. I've enver heard of any during the week, here in So.Cali they ALWAYS take place on weekends. I think Nationals might go on durning the week though. And it is pretty intense, but you can drive it at your own comfortable pace.

Re: some solo 2 questions

Depending on where you live you could have 1-2 events per month or a booked month. I live in PA and within 2 hours of driving there are like 6 different regions: Northeast PA, Susquehanna Region, South NJ Region, Philly Region, North NJ Region, Washington DC region, and pushing it State College region.

Autocrossers unlike other motorsports are really friendly and down-to-earth people. Which is one of the reasons I've been autocrossing for so long (7 years). My first day it seemed like everyone was so helpful.

My only thing for you is don't get there with a chip on your shoulder, and expect to be humbled your 1st year

I didn't say YOU had a chip on your shoulder. Just mentioning it

Personally NO mods need to be done to compete. Just a driver's license, helmet (although some regions have loaners), and a safe working car.

They will do a tech inspection to make sure your car doesn't fall apart on the course and is safe.

Read my help page in my sig.

www.solo2.com Click "calendar" on the menu that's on the left hand side. We have some out in Fontana, some at Hollywood Park, some at Norton AFB/San Bernadino airport, and I think they are adding Tustin to the list this year as well... If you decide to go to one, better plan on showing up at 7:30am because word is they might start limiting "visitor" participation (people that don't have an SCCA membership, or CSCC-S2 points card). Lots of these events have lately been selling out. That means 350+ people showing up to them to race. Our last event becauseof time constraints with the winter months only having limited amount of daylight, everyone was only allowed 2 runs on the course, rather than out usual 3.

Re: some solo 2 questions

In any motorsports you are required helmets. Sometimes the region hosting the event has loaner helmets.

If you find that idea gross (cause I know I do) then you can buy a motorcycle helmet that is M2000 or better. Mine has a visor that comes down since I wear contacts.
