bubblery sound

i just got my cold air intake on tuesday, when i was going to work on wed morn. i accidently went through a big puddle of water. it sputtered for a while but didnt die and kept going. when i got to work i was letting it idle and the check engine light came on, it was running a little bad, sputtering. On wed. it ran fine so i unplugged the batt to reset the computer and went on my merry way. but today on my way to work while i was on the freeway the check engine light came on and it started to sputter and blubber pretty bad,(when i got off the freeway). its been doing that all day today. i checked to see if i had spark from the wires and i could hear a clicking noise, i just put in some fuel injector cleaner and some 91 octane gas to see what it can do. any other suggestions? thanks guys.

Re: bubblery sound

Now that sounds like bad news to the engine. May I suggest that you get a bypass valve if you dont have one yet.

With regards to how to fix it, I cant help you there but I think you have to drain the engine from all of its fluids. Wait for someone more knowledgable about this topic to reply.

Re: bubblery sound

i took the cap off and thier was no water in their. i just changed the spark plugs and oil and now it doesnt do it any more. water must have hit one of the spark plugs. when i was putting the cap back on i over tightend one of the bolts and it snaped but left some of the thread in the metal part(you know what im talking about?) it runs fine, the check engine light hasn't come on yet but i'll see how it does tomorrow on the way to work. thanks for all your guys. later, john.

good news and bad news, the noise is gone but my check engine light came back on. . is their a way to stick a paper clip in the obd plug and get check engine codes? i think their might be an air leak, i can hear something sucking air(not my intake, it does but its not from their), it sounds like its coming from the front of the head? or maybe a belt or something? im lost. my idle is at 600, but it normally runs at 800-1000. im lost and poor. any other ideas guys? thanks again.

Re: bubblery sound

I would do a compression check. if you sucked in a decent amount of water you could have internal engine damage
