Question Please Help!

Hi all,

I have been having this problem with my wife's 1995 Ford Escort LXi with a 1.9L engine.

The Problem: Any time the car is idle (warming up, stopped at a red light) the car idles rough and varies in rpm. The idle jumps anywhere between 800rpm down to about 450rpm and then suddenly dies. This also happens when we go to warm the car up in the morning, start it up and after five or so minutes it starts the same as mentioned above. To recover all that is done is put the car in N and restart it. Starts everytime the first time. It has never died during driving it weather the gas is applied or just coasting. Anyone have any ideas of where to start looking? Any help would be appreciated greatly. This one has been real frusterating so far.

Thanks in advance!
Jaron

Turned out to be a blow intake gasket after I tried the IACV and spark plugs.

Thanks for all your help.
BTW, It was only $200 to get it fixed from my mechanic.
