96 civic b18c or b16a2?
Hey got a question for yall to conjure over,
Got a 1996 honda civic and iv done bout 1500 in acessories to it and i am lookin to go a engine swap cuz its got 162k miles on it. A couple problems have arose, 1. I have to decide between gsr and b16a2, which is more upgradable and which do you think i can pull the most power out of, personally i was guna shoot for the gsr, because in the end i think that would be most powerful. 2. Quite possibly a bigger problem: it is an automatic civic and i was tryin to find another black 96-98 ex manual that i can swap everything over to, or do a auto to manual sawp (which iv heard is a beoch but possible), or contacting level 10 and doing sum mods on an auto tranny and messin w.the shift points Im having a hard time finding a civic i like thats in my area, all that iv seen are shitty and not taken care of, I would rather spend 2k on an auto to manual than 2k on a new civic(tax tag title etc) Leme kno wat ur opinion is so i can figure out the best way to spend my money! |

Re: 96 civic b18c or b16a2?
I'd go with a B18 since it has more torque.
I would stick with the current car if its in good condition. the d series tranny wouldn't work on a b series anyway so messing with it would be pointless... auto to manual would i think requires some rewelding for tranny mounts (is that right? i know its true for 4gen ) but would be cheaper then messing with strengthening an automatic in the first place. good luck. |
