Question best place to put alarm siren

A while ago I installed an alarm into my 97 civic. All went well and alarm works like a champ, but I never hooked up the siren. Right now the alarm uses car's horn. I want to add the siren for chirping and all, but I cannot find a good spot to mount it. What is a good place for it? where exactly is it traditionally placed? Any other help on how to do it for a newb?

Well, hopefully you have one of the newer sirens like DEI has. THey are about the size of a "D" size battery. Anyway, I just find a place that it won't get hit with water or melt from exhaust. All of this when trying to find a farely clear shot to the bottom of the car so it is as loud as it can be. Sometimes you have to come up with some ingenious location or mounting.

No, this one is more like 4" in diameter. It looks just like the one in this picture (though it is a different alarm model). Maybe I should just get a smaller one and mount that.

Yeah, with a time delayed trigger

Unfortunately this is probably illegal.

Well, not really. I sell these things called pain generators. They are extremely loud and tiny sirens with a super high frequency. It about makes your ears bleed. Well, they are designed to go inside the car so when a theif gets in, it goes off.

this is actually from the higher security thread page 2:
wow it's not that serious put a timer/delay relay inline with the siren output make it for 30 secs and place revenge sirens in various spots in the car stealing the stereo or otherwise the person will get out of the car and if the alarm falses and you don't hear it there is no mess or ultra loud noises outside the car due to the freq opposed to volume. KISS do normal things hide the alarm brain somewhere spiffy pass side is always good. Have hoodlocks and usually your car is safe like poncho said backup batteries are cool.
Ps ultimate spot for revenge siren is tucked up by the overhead light also in door near speaker opening put one in each side these three combined will prolly make someone lose hearing for a moment...

also these revenger sirens are very small if you have a headrest you can put them in with most honda's having small ones or like mine it has a hole in the center of the headrest this option may not be available.
