program remote instructions for 1998 blazer

i need programming instructions and also how do i know the transmitter is good?

First if you're not sure about the transmitter, replace the batteries. To program the transmitter, get in your truck and close the doors

Press and hold the unlock button on your door, on the iginition on, off, on, off At this point you should hear the door locks cycle. You are now in programming mode. Press and hold the UNLOCK button on your transmitter until you hear the door locks cycle again (about 15-20 seconds). You're done..
