Talking Car Bra, Good Idea?

Theres this dude on ebay selling Colgan 2 piece bra that fits 1997 through 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse models for $100 bucks. I dunno anything about car bras, they made of like leather or what material anyway? I'm affard of scratching the paint or it won't be worth it or a hassle, or not stick on, etc. lol maybe I'm being paranoid...

But I have a stock bumper and a carbon fiber hood though, so I dunno if that would cause any problems.

$100 bucks for a bra sounds mighty expensive, is it the brand?

My reason for wanting to get one perhaps would be because I'm having the car repainted soon and really want to protect the front end of the car.

Oh and lastly I have a CAI and the filter is right behind my right opening in the bumper. I did see someone with a CAI and this bra before, but I dunno still if this would cause any sort of problems with air intake. However I was thinking that this may protect my filter and thus no need for me to make my own mess grill and gunk.

Looking for insightful replies.

Re: Car Bra, Good Idea?

All the cars i have seen with BRA's are flapping something around bc they are falling apart. I would just leave it be.

Yeah, its a personal preferance thing. I personally wouldn't b/c I don't see very many rock chips on my bumper to begin with. I seen a lot of bra's trap moisture and end up causing rust underneath them to any exposed metal.

Preference.Yeah
One thing to keep in mind.
All replies are correct.
If you were cool, tough,,,,,,,,and people respected you,how you feel to be outfitted with a bra.
Your car will develope engine problems as soon as you purchase.
Don't do it.

Re: Re: Re: Car Bra, Good Idea?

my biggest problem with a bra, besides the fact they look like ass, is that they trap dirt and dust between the bra and the paint and scratch the hell out of it. obviously the solution to that is to constantly clean the bra. but it isnt worth it to me.

Honestly, i dont understand why people want to buy these? Protecting the paint? Once its covered, there is nothing to see, so whats there to protect? Might as well not paint the front cuz ull be covering it anyway.

Re: Car Bra, Good Idea?

this is so funny... as a guy, most of my life has been focused at getting the bra off... lol... and what about the rest of the paint that gets weathered? so you got this nice bright and new front end and there is this nice line seperating the now 2 tone paint you got... and it's gay... IMHO...

Yeah thats what I was thinking about.

Now I have to decide if I want that leather seating... I have a limited budget but if that will give me some extra points at some car shows, maybe it's worth it...
