4x4 Lights are blinking?
Hi. I have a 1996 GMC 1500 Z71 with 5.7 with push button 4x4 engage. When I put it in neutral and hit the "4 HI" button i can hear the actuator swith the transfer case but the light next to "4 HI" remains blinking and never turns solid as it has in the past. This is also the same for "4 LOW". Has anyone experienced this problem on their vehicle and if so what was the remedy. I really hate running it in 4 wheel drive without knowing that I am not messing up my truck. Thanks to all in advance for the help.

theres a motor that engages the 4-wheel drive on the transfer case.if the light keeps blinking, it probably isnt fully engaged.you will probably have to replace the motor.

but it is engaging the four wheel drive. I know it is going into 4 hi and low. the light is just blinking and i know its not supposed to be cause it used to not do that. Any other ideas? Thanks!
